What makes a (Redmond) Seattle man awesome? According to social networking event company Alar Productions, someone who is charming, clever, kind to puppies and kittens, and can dance in the rain and turn it into sunshine.

Mr. Awesome of Seattle candidate Devon Shigaki from Redmond is apparently all that and more. He’s one of 15 candidates competing for the first Mr. Awesome of Seattle Award.

Shigaki, a tattoo artist/piercer/model, is so awesome he doesn’t even have a bio yet. In his photo he channels an Armani add meets Zoolander “Blue Steel” pose. And if you’re into Flock of Seaguls, you’re in luck. His teased haircut flips up in the front, making it look like a constant breeze is blowing through his dark locks.

To vote for your favorite Mr. Awesome of Seattle – Redmond, visit AlarProductions.com. One vote costs $1 on PayPal.com, which the winner will donate to a charity of their choice. The remaining funds go toward production costs and PayPal fees.

Mr. Awesome of Seattle will be awarded a choice of multiple prizes, including $1,000, a 52-inch HDTV, iPad, two-night stay in a Seattle hotel, movie ticket packages or an all-inclusive whitewater rafting trip for two on the Wenatchee River.

Mr. Cool and Mr. Congeniality will also be rewarded.

The contest ends Friday at midnight.
