Swedish starts construction on Union Hill facility | Business

Swedish Medical Center announced on Friday that it has started construction on a new 86,000 square foot facility on Union Hill Road.

The complex at 18100 NE Union Hill Road will include a freestanding emergency department and ambulatory care center that will be open 24 hours a day.  The center will be based on Swedish's Issaquah clinic, which was built in 2005.

The clinic is scheduled to be finished later this year, and an official groundbreaking ceremony planned for later in the spring.  Swedish will actually be leasing the space from Hammes Company, which is building the three-story structure.
