It ain't cardboard rocket science for these rocketeers | Community Spirit
Title
Rocketry club members from Ingraham High School tested out their rockets today at Sixty Acres Park in Redmond.
These tests were done in preparation for the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), the world's largest rocketry challenge.
"The goal of the competition is to launch their rocket to an exact altitude of 825 feet, stay aloft 40-45 seconds, and land an egg payload unbroken without a parachute," Tiffany Bostic said.
The enthusiastic team members designed, handbuilt each rocket, and hope to win $60,000 in prizes and scholarships at TARC next week in Virginia.
The club finished 7th last year, and are hoping to claim the title this year so they can go on to compete internationally.
